International Workshop on “Implementation of the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus at different scales for Socio-Economic Development”

The Workshop is being organized by the ICID’s Working Group on Water Food Energy Nexus (WG-WFE_N) as part of the 26th ICID International Congress and 77th International Executive Council and will be held on October 13, 2026, in Marseille, France. The Workshop is jointly Organized with IWMI and FAO. 

Call for papers

Abstracts/papers are invited and encouraged from professionals, researchers, experts, practitioners, managers, policymakers and students. The papers should show examples of application and must include the three elements of the Nexus: Water, Food and Energy.

i.  Submission of abstracts (max. 600 words)  : 28 April 2026
ii.  Abstract acceptance & invitation to submit full paper: 07 May 2026
iii.  Deadline for Submission of Full Papers (max. 10 pages of A-4 size): 07 June2026
iv.  Notification of acceptance of full papers: 1 August 2026

Drainage and Flood Control (WG-HIST), as an accredited parallel event of the 26th ICID 
International Congress and 77th IEC Meeting. It will be held on 13 October 2026 in
